This practice was formed in March 1993, and I have been working in the Architectural field for 42 years, 31 years as self-employed, completing in excess of 2400 projects.
Predominantly the Practice is engaged in the residential/domestic field, but often carry out works to commercial, Retail and Industrial properties.
Professional Plans, Specifications and Structural Calculations have been prepared for New Buildings, Refurbishments, Loft Conversions, Garage Conversions and Basement Conversions ; Alterations and Extensions.
The service commences with the Client`s brief and design, culminating in obtaining Local Authority Planning & Building Regulations approvals; prior to tendering and site construction. If necessary, Planning Appeals are undertaken.
My career started in 1982, working for a major Construction Company for 5 years. I spent 2 years working for a London Borough; a year in Private Practice; 2 ½ years for a Design & Build Company. Furthermore, I was employed by a small Chartered Building Company, and then completed a Business Planning course ; before starting my own business.
I became a Member of the British Institute of Architectural Technologists in 1988; Chartered Institute of Building in 1991; and Architecture & Surveying Institute in 1999; and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 2002
The practice always strives to provide a cost-effective and efficient service. All fees are quoted on a fixed per project basis. I am a lean business with no overheads. I work with my Structural Engineer; and only use external Consultants as necessary. I am personally keen on timber frame construction. This form is sustainable, lightweight and cost-effective.
